Gurgaon:
A 19-year-old college student has been arrested for allegedly blackmailing and sexually assaulting a Class 11 student of a reputed private school in the city, Gurgaon Police said.
The case was registered at Mahila Police Station-West under various sections of IPC and POCSO Act.
According to the complaint lodged by the father of the 16-year-old victim, his daughter had befriended a senior student of his school a few months back.
He said that they used to talk often and after passing out from school, the accused went to college but kept talking to the girl and slowly started following her.
“As my daughter told me, the accused received a nude picture of my daughter on WhatsApp during the conversation. After that, he started blackmailing her on the basis of this photo and pressurized her to call and meet her. inserted.
According to the police, “When he met her, he sexually assaulted her, and when my daughter resisted to move forward, the accused thrashed her.”
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against the accused under sections 323 (causing hurt), 354-D (pursuing), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and section 6 of the POCSO Act.
Inspector Poonam, SHO, Mahila Police Station (West), said, “We have arrested the accused and are interrogating him.”
