Commercial LPG prices hiked by Rs 105

new Delhi:

Prices of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), used in hotels and other commercial establishments, rose by Rs 105 to their second highest on Tuesday, even as subsidized gas sold to households remained untouched. .

Subsequently, according to the price notification issued by the state-owned fuel retailers, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has been increased from Rs 1,907 to Rs 2,012.

This is the second highest rate after Rs 2,101 per cylinder in December 2021.

LPG rates are revised on the 1st of every month based on the benchmark fuel price in the previous month.

However, there has been no change in the price of LPG, the domestic cooking gas sold to households, since October, when it was increased to Rs 899.50 per 14.2 kg cylinder.

The stagnation in domestic LPG prices is mainly due to sharp criticism from the opposition over the Rs 90 hike in prices in the last six months.

Similarly, petrol and diesel prices have also remained stable for over 100 days since November 4, 2021, when the government cut excise duty on petrol and diesel on the eve of Diwali.

There is speculation that fuel rates may be hiked after the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh ends on March 7, as global crude oil prices rose after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last week.
