Completely Helpless Former Pakistan Army Chief Bajwa Was The Real Man In Power, Says Imran Khan

In his latest attack against Pakistan’s former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, former prime minister Imran Khan said Bajwa was the “real man in power” while he was “completely helpless”.

By India Today Web DeskPakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan on Friday said he was “completely helpless” as the country’s prime minister as the “real man in power” was former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Imran Khan has been targeting General Bajwa and some senior ISI officials ever since he was removed from the no-confidence motion in April. The former Pakistan army chief retired on 29 November.

“General Bajwa was the real man in power. He was controlling the national anti-corruption body (National Accountability Bureau). They decide which politician should be sent to jail,” PTI quoted Khan as saying.

General Bajwa dominates Imran Khan

Khan brought up past instances where Bajwa had allegedly pulled ranks at him. “The NAB would tell me that the cases against the thieves – Sharif and Zardari – were ripe but General Bajwa did not allow them to be taken to their logical end,” he said.

The former Pakistan PM also talked about how General Bajwa provided relief to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a mega-money laundering case, in which his conviction was certain on merits.

In his latest attack, Khan said, “The Federal Investigation Agency’s multi-billion dollar case against Shehbaz Sharif and his sons – Hamza and Sulaiman was open and shut but General Bajwa came to their rescue and I, being the Prime Minister Was completely helpless.” on former army chief

earlier this month, Khan accused Bajwa of playing a ‘double game’ against his government and said that he made a “big mistake” in 2019 by extending the tenure of the then army chief.
