Concern over rising cases of human trafficking

At a meeting on Human Trafficking and the Abuse of Technology, speakers expressed concern over the increase in human trafficking.

The program was organized by the Anti-Human Trafficking Club of the Social Work Department of Maris Stella College on Saturday in connection with the ‘World Day Against Trafficking in Persons’.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police P. Venkata Ratnam, who attended the meeting, cautioned the students against cyber attacks and fraudsters which were attracting youth.

Expressing concern over the increasing cases of trafficking, he asked the students to make people aware about the trafficking of children and women.

Appreciating the students for launching the club on the campus, Marpu Trust Director R.K. Suez asked club members to explain to the youth about the misuse of technology, which is causing crimes.

Anuhya, Vice Principal of Maris Stales Degree College, Sr. Sahya Mary, Disha Mahila Police CI Vasavi and others participated.
