The legal cell of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Tuesday approached the Election Commission (EC) seeking action against Gandhinagar constituency’s JDS candidate V Narayanaswamy for allegedly collecting photocopies of voter ID cards of locals and intimidating them .

In the complaint, the KPCC alleged that V Narayanaswamy through his cadres was collecting Xerox copies of voter ID cards of voters in his constituency.

In the complaint, the KPCC has also demanded a probe into the incident and action against Narayanaswamy.

Earlier, Congress leader and a spokesperson of the party Gaurav Vallabh also demanded immediate action against JDS candidate V Narayanaswamy on the issue of voter ID card collection and said such persons should not be allowed to contest elections.

He further said, “There is a lotus sign at the Shimoga airport, it should be removed by the time the elections are over. We have already given a complaint to the Election Commission about this.”
