Congress appoints Bhupesh Baghel as senior observer of AICC for UP assembly elections

Indian National Congress (INC) has decided to appoint Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel as senior observer of AICC for the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

“Hon’ble National President Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji has directed me to become an observer for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. It is a huge responsibility. I will try my best to live up to the expectations of the top leadership (sic),” Baghel said on Saturday. Said in a tweet.

Baghel, who along with his team was instrumental in extensive booth training of party workers in the Assam assembly elections, has in the past discussed preparations for the elections in UP with the Congress general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

“The Congress President has appointed Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bhagel as Senior Observer of AICC for the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh,” the Congress said in a statement.
