Congress known to cheat people: Karnataka CM

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday hit out at the Congress party for making lofty promises and said it is known to cheat people.

Addressing a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) election campaign meeting in Gadag district of Karnataka, Mr Bommai said, “The previous Congress government had announced 7 kg of rice per person and within a few days it was reduced to 4 kg. Was. In fact, it was only 4 kg. Distributed for three years of his 5-year term. With just one year for re-election, it was increased to 7 kg.”

Bommai said, “The same story is about the promise of distribution of houses for the poor. People will show them their place in this Legislative Council election.”

Referring to the former chief minister’s allegation that the BJP government has not distributed even a single house, Mr Bommai said senior Congress leaders are misleading the people.

“Congress leaders built palaces in the air three months before the last elections by promising to build 15 lakh houses without any financial allotment. But the BJP government has not only provided funds, it has also started work on the construction. I approved Have given. Construction of five lakh houses. I have directed the officials to ensure that they are completed before the end of my tenure,” Mr Bommai added.

The Chief Minister also listed out several welfare programs launched by his government.

“There is a healthy competition among various departments in taking up development works in rural areas. Around 7,500 Shree Shakti Sanghas have been provided with a grant of Rs 1 lakh each. Around 75,000 youth have been enrolled for various skill development programmes. So that they can be able to get a job or become self-employed.”
