Rejecting Congress’ offer to join the party committee, election strategist Prashant Kishor on Tuesday said “the party needs leadership and collective will to fix deep-rooted structural problems through transformational reforms”. .

“I reject Congress’s generous offer to join the party as part of the EAG and take responsibility for the elections,” Kishor wrote on Twitter.

“In my humble opinion, the party needs more leadership and collective will than me to fix the deep-rooted structural problems through transformational reforms,” ​​he said.

Kishor categorically rejected the Congress party’s offer to join as part of its “Empowered Action Group”, ending months of talks to rejuvenate the old party .

The election strategists were keen to join the Congress and wanted to do so without any expectations. He also made a presentation to the party, which was discussed by its top leaders over the past week.

Senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala tweeted: “After a presentation and discussion with Mr Prashant Kishor, the Congress President has constituted an Empowered Working Group 2024 and has been included in the party as part of the group with defined responsibility. Invited to be there. He declined. We appreciate his efforts and suggestions given to the party.”

Kishor has been roped in by Mamata Banerjee’s TMC in West Bengal and Nitish Kumar’s JD-U in Bihar for election management.
