Sukesh Chandrasekhar, accused in a multi-crore money laundering case, broke down before officials as a surprise raid from his jail cell in Delhi resulted in the seizure of lakhs of rupees, CCTV visuals showed this morning.
A Gucci sandal worth Rs 1.5 lakh and two pairs of jeans worth Rs 80,000 were recovered from the alleged swindler’s cell in Mandoli jail.
Sukesh stood in the corner of his cell and wept in front of jailer Deepak Sharma and another officer when they conducted a surprise raid with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
The alleged conman was arrested in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case in which Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi have been questioned by the police.
Last week, Sukesh was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a fresh money laundering case related to defrauding the wife of former Religare promoter Malvinder Singh.
The latest charge against him is over the Rs 3.5 crore that Mr Singh’s wife allegedly paid to secure bail for her husband.
