Champions of Europe Italy will face Copa America winners Argentina in the opening final of the CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions 2022 (Finalissima) on Thursday. June 2.
The match between the two legends will take place at the Wembley Stadium in London. It is worth noting that Azzurri won the Euro Cup last year at the same venue.

The UEFA Cup of Champions 2022 (Finalissima) is played between the winners of the UEFA Euro Cup and Copa America. Italy beat England 3-2 (on penalties) in the Euro final. Argentina’s 2021 Copa America win was their record-equalling 15th title. It was also Argentina’s first Copa America win since 1993.
So far Italy and Argentina have faced each other 16 times. With six wins in their kitty, Argentina currently have the upper hand. Italy managed to win five matches while the remaining five were drawn.
The 2022 final against Argentina will also be the last international match for Italy’s captain Giorgio Chiellini. The defender made his international debut in 2004. In all, he has played 116 international matches so far and has returned to the nets eight times.
