ContiSportContact 5 (19-20-inch):
The locally manufactured ContiSportContact 5 and ContiSportContact 5 SUV tires will have a larger surface area that makes contact with the road. Continental reports that this helps the tires’ ability to better respond to changing road conditions and improves traction and cornering capabilities. Continental says the tires also feature new Macro-Block technology with a new tread pattern and sidewall design, which improves fuel efficiency and is suitable for both ICE and EV models. In terms of warranty, the new tires will be eligible for the Conti-Sure program which offers 2 years or 50,000km coverage.

While one can assume that localization of premium tires will reduce consumer costs, this is yet to be achieved, as Continental is still sourcing 60-70 per cent of its raw material from outside.
