Rumors are rife about Brazilian star Neymar Jr shifting his base to England. The Paris Saint-Germain footballer is reportedly in talks with a few Premier League clubs and could leave the French capital in the upcoming summer transfer window. Among others, Chelsea and Manchester City are said to be heavily interested in signing the former Barcelona man. Although no deal has yet been finalised, footballer-turned-pundit Stan Collymore has issued a stark warning about a possible Neymar move. Speaking to CotOfficeDay, Collymore mentioned the feud between Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United which led to the termination of the footballer’s contract. He said the same could happen in the case of the Brazilian star.

Collymore said, “The playboy lifestyle is always hanging over Neymar, so if a Premier League club are really taking a serious look at him, my message to them is to be careful because this could be another Cristiano Ronaldo and Man United situation.” However, he acknowledged Neymar’s skill and ability, calling him “a fantastic player”.

The former Liverpool forward claimed Chelsea’s decision to sign the 31-year-old would leave him behind as “‘The Blues’ project is to build for the future”. Collymore said, “If Neymar were to come to Stamford Bridge, you can imagine Graham Potter’s time in front of the media would be spent questioning the Brazilian.”

Finally, Collymore warned the London-based side not to repeat the same mistake they made with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last summer. He added, “Neymar’s antics are reminiscent of Aubameyang at times and look how that turned out, so just be clear, Chelsea.”

A 90 Minutes report stated that Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United are all interested in Neymar. According to the report, PSG are willing to sell the former Barcelona player even if the contract runs till 2025.

Intermediaries reportedly contacted Premier League teams and informed them that Neymar was considering a transfer. Reports say Neymar’s name came up during a recent meeting between Chelsea co-owner Todd Bohly and PSG counterpart Nasser El-Khelaifi, which was actually intended to cover other topics.

Neymar has had a mixed impact in France since joining PSG in the summer of 2017 for a record-breaking €222 million. The Brazilian has won four Ligue 1 titles but has never been able to lead his team to the Champions League triumph, which was highly anticipated after his signing. In the ongoing season, the French giants look set to win yet another league title.
