Couple charged after shoplifting incident in Guelph: Police – Guelph | Globalnews.ca – Henry Club

A Guelph couple faced a variety of charges after the arrest of a shopkeeper on Saturday afternoon.

Officers Respond to a Business Silvercreek Parkway It was around 4.30 pm when the employees recognized a couple of people from the previous theft.

As officers were arriving, they said they saw the couple pushing a cart full of more than $1,200 worth of property out of the store.

He said the couple tried to run away, but after a short chase on foot, they were found some distance away.

Police said they found more stolen property as they searched the couple, including perfume and clothing, as well as several small bags of suspected fentanyl and a spring-loaded knife.

A 36-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, both from Guelph, have been charged with theft and possession of a controlled substance among other crimes.
