The Kerala High Court on Monday said it will consider the anticipatory bail plea of ​​Malayalam filmmaker and actor Vijay Babu only if he presents a ticket indicating his return to India.

The court’s direction came after the actor-producer’s lawyers urged him to consider his plea and assured that he would appear before it on whatever date is directed to him.

The lawyers also claimed that he was ready to appear before the investigating officer and urged the court to consider his plea on Thursday or Friday this week.

However, the court said that his plea will be considered after he submits the return tickets booked by him.

Babu, in his petition, has alleged that a rape case has been registered against him for blackmailing him.

He has been accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a female actor and disclosing the identity of the survivor through a Facebook Live session.

Babu said in his petition, “Now the effort of the real complainant is to blackmail the petitioner by merely alleging that the petitioner has forcibly sexually exploited her.”

The producer-actor, in his plea, has also alleged that there is a “tendency” to tarnish the image of the person gaining popularity in the society and to make sexual allegations against someone for publicity.

He has claimed that he was innocent and was “extremely saddened” by the one-sided approach of the authorities to make him a “scapegoat for news and media purposes”. Babu, who is reportedly absconding after the police alleged rape following the woman’s complaint, appeared in a Facebook Live session and claimed to be innocent, saying that he was the real victim.

As the producer, who is also the founder of the production company Friday Film House, revealed the name and identity of the survivor, which is a crime, another case was also registered against him.
