New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday refused bail to Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar In Chhatrasal Stadium Massacre.
Additional Sessions Judge Shivaji Anand After hearing the arguments of the prosecution and the defence, it refused to grant relief to Kumar.
Kumar, seeking relief from the court, had said that the police had made up a false case against him and projected his “guilty image”.
The 38-year-old wrestler was arrested on May 23 and has been in jail since June 2, 2021.
Kumar along with others allegedly assaulted former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankadi and his friends over an alleged property dispute at the stadium in May.
Dhankhar later died. According to the post-mortem report, he died due to “brain damage from blunt object impact”.
