A Delhi court on Tuesday refused bail to Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar in the Chhatrasal Stadium murder case.
Additional Sessions Judge Shivaji Anand, after hearing the arguments of the prosecution and the defence, refused to grant relief to Kumar.
Mr. Kumar had sought relief from the court Saying that the police made up a false case against him and projected his “guilty image”.
38 years old wrestler arrested Jailed on May 23 and since June 2, 2021.
Mr Kumar, among others, allegedly assaulted former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankhar and his friends at the stadium in May over an alleged property dispute.
Dhankhar later died. According to the post-mortem report, he died due to “brain damage from blunt object impact”.
