Courtney Cox From ‘Friends’ Recalls Last Trip With the Cast Before It Was Famous

Courteney Cox, best known for playing Monica in the cult sitcom Friends, recently recalled the time she and the other five cast members took a trip to Las Vegas.

The show, which tickles the weird bones of teenagers and adults alike since it last aired in 2004, has been etched in people’s minds with its gripping plot and an adorable cast. The show, revolving around the lives of six friends Chandler, Joey, Rachel, Ross, Phoebe and Monica, first aired on NBC on September 22, 1994.

Before the show aired, the director of the famous sitcom, James ‘Jim’ Burroughs, sent the cast on a trip to Las Vegas. By paying $500 to each member, Burroughs sent six actors on a memorable trip to Las Vegas. But why was it considered memorable?

Courtney spilled the beans, in a recent interview with the New York Post. She said, “He gave us all $500 and said, ‘I want you to take care, like, really take care of this moment because it’s going to be the last time all six of you can walk through the casino at once. “And we were really like?”

Burroughs, here, was hinting that this would be the last time the cast members — Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox — would not be publicly recognized. And Burroughs was not wrong. The show brought him immense popularity, and the actor became a star soon after the first season.

The last time the ‘Friends’ were together in Las Vegas unrecognized, Kourtney shared a photo on Instagram in 2019, the day the actors were on their way to Las Vegas. “The one where the six of us went to Vegas and no one knew we were friends yet,” Kourtney wrote in the caption.

The cast was last seen together in a special reunion episode – ‘Friends: The Reunion’. The reunion special was aired in 2021, where the cast met and traveled to the city of nostalgia together.
