Sources said 457 students and staff of the residential school in NR Pura taluk, run by the central government, were tested for Covid over the weekend after a school teacher tested positive for coronavirus three days ago.
All the students and staff who have tested positive for COVID are asymptomatic. This comes 10 days after over 300 freshers and seniors from a medical college in Dharwad tested positive for COVID-19. Also, Chikkamagaluru Deputy Commissioner KN Ramesh told TOI that the swabs were collected on Friday and Saturday. Medical teams and an ambulance have been kept on standby.
