The Union Health Ministry on Thursday said that India recorded over 10,000 new Covid cases daily after 33 days and stressed the need for strict monitoring in view of the sharp rise in cases. Addressing a press briefing, the Health Ministry informed that eight districts are reporting more than 10 per cent Covid-19 weekly positivity and 14 districts are reporting between 5-10 per cent positivity. India recorded an average of over 8,000 cases per day last week. The overall case positivity rate is 0.92%. Since December 26, 10,000 cases are being reported daily in the country.
