COVID death toll in India rises by 431; Nearly half the deaths occur in Kerala

The Union Health Ministry said that India on Thursday reported 30,470 new Covid-19 cases and 431 deaths in 24 hours. The total Kovid-19 caseload of the country has increased to 3,33,47,325. The number of active cases has declined to 8,164, which is only 1.03% of the total COVID-19 cases. Currently, there are 3,42,923 active cases in India and the death toll has risen to 4,43,928.

In the last one day, 38,303 people have recovered from this disease. The total number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19 is 3,25,60,474.

The improvement in the daily Covid-19 caseload in the country is due to the reduction in cases in Kerala. The southernmost state, which was reporting more than 30,000 cases every day in August, reported 17,681 new cases on Wednesday.

However, Kerala Reported 208 deaths in a day – the highest among all Indian states.

Goa reported 70 deaths in 24 hours, followed by Maharashtra with 56 deaths.

Maharashtra reported 3,783 new coronavirus cases and 56 fresh deaths on Wednesday.

The number of daily cases and fatalities saw a marginal increase as compared to Tuesday, when the state recorded 3,530 Covid-19 cases and 52 fatalities.

Apart from this, the national capital Delhi also recorded a rise in daily new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday. 57 new cases were reported in the city. For the past three weeks, Delhi has recorded less than 30 coronavirus infections daily.

At present there are 404 active cases in the state. Delhi, and the positivity rate is 0.08%.

India has conducted 54.77 crore tests so far. While a total of 76.57 crore vaccines have been administered under the nationwide vaccination campaign. According to ministry data, so far 57,80,94,804 beneficiaries have received the first pill and 18,68,41,354 beneficiaries have received both the doses.
