CUET: St. Stephens has 15% weightage on interview for admission

St Stephen’s College has released its admission details, which states that 85% weightage for admission will be given to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), while 15% will be given to an interview.

It had said the same thing in its admission notice posted on its website last month.

However, Delhi University has opposed the decision and said that it will write to the minority college to withdraw the prospectus.

“We will write to the college that the step taken by it is wrong and the prospectus should be withdrawn immediately,” DU registrar Vikas Gupta was quoted as saying by the news agency. PTI,

“If not withdrawn, and you (college) take any admission on the basis of it, the university will not accept it and they will be treated as null and void,” he said.

Gupta said DU will also issue a statement, advising students to refrain from applying for courses in the college.

The university had earlier also written to the college that they have to comply with the executive council’s resolution to conduct admissions to general seats on the basis of CUET scores.

However, St Stephen’s College has informed the University that it reserves the right to proceed with admission in accordance with its policy of guaranteed as a minority institution.

University Grants Commission has made CUET score mandatory for admission in all 45 central universities of the country.
