Cyrus Mistry: Former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry dies in road accident India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Former President of Bye group, cyrus Mechanic On Sunday, he died in a road accident in Palghar near Mumbai. He was 54 years old.
Mistry was going from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in a Mercedes car.

“The accident happened around 3.15 pm, when Mistry was traveling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. The accident happened on the bridge over the Surya river. It feels like an accident,” said the police officer.

Two other people traveling with him, including the driver of the car, were injured. Mistry’s body has been sent to Casa Rural Hospital in Gujarat for postmortem.
Medical superintendent Dr Pradeep Dhodi said that Mistry and another person died due to serious head injuries due to the impact of the accident.
The doctor further said that another woman sitting in the driver’s seat had multiple fractures in her lower jaw. Her husband Darius, who was sitting next to her, also suffered a fracture in her lower jaw.
He is survived by his wife and two children.

Tata Sons Speaker N Chandrasekaran remembered Cyrus Mistry as a man who, he said, had a passion for life.
“I am deeply saddened by the sudden and untimely demise of Mr. Cyrus Mistry. He had a passion for life and it is indeed sad that he passed away at such a young age,” Chandrasekaran said in a statement.
He added, “My deepest condolences and prayers for his family at this difficult time.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Mistry’s demise is a great loss to the world of commerce and industry.
“The untimely demise of Mr. Cyrus Mistry is shocking. He was a promising business leader who believed in India’s economic power,” the Prime Minister said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed grief over Mistry’s death and said he has asked the state police to conduct a detailed inquiry into the accident.
“Spoke to DGP and directed for detailed investigation,” Fadnavis tweeted.

Expressing grief, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule said, “Destructive news. My brother Cyrus Mistry passed away. Can’t believe it. Rest in peace Cyrus.”
Harsh Goenka, Chairman, RPG Enterprises also condoled Mistry’s death.
“Deeply saddened to hear the shocking news of the passing of Cyrus Mistry in an accident. He was a friend, a gentleman, a man of substance. He was instrumental in building the global manufacturing giant Shapoorji Pallonji and headed the Tata Group. Goenka tweeted.
Cyrus Pallonji Mistry He was chosen to lead Tata Sons after Ratan Tata stepped down in 2012, when he rose to prominence. He was made the chairman on the basis of his representation of Shapoorji Pallonji Group, the largest shareholder in Tata Sons.
He joined the board of Tata Sons in 2006 after the retirement of his father Pallonji Mistry, a construction tycoon and chairman of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group.
On 24 October 2016, the board of Tata Sons (the group’s holding company) voted to remove Mistry as chairman.
