A Dalit girl has died after she was allegedly gang-raped and set ablaze by two men in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district.
The alleged sexual assault of the teenager took place in Kunwarpur village earlier this month. After raping the girl, the accused poured diesel on her and set her on fire. The victim was fighting for life in a hospital in Lucknow, but died 12 days later.
Police have arrested two accused in the case.
The body of the deceased girl will be handed over to her family in Pilibhit after post-mortem in Lucknow.
