Dalmia Bharat Sugar sets record date for dividend: Check key points

A small cap company with a market cap of Rs. 2,811 crores Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries Limited operated in the sugar industry. The current total cane crushing capacity of the company is 35500 TCD, making it one of the top producers of sugar in the country. As a leading fully integrated player, it has 255 KLPD distillation capacity, 120 MW cogeneration capacity, incineration boiler and raw sugar processing facilities. The company is a selected supplier of sugar to several giants of the liquor industry, helping companies including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Mondelez, Parfetti, Britannia, Walmart India, Dabur, D-Mart, India Glycols, Allied Blenders & Distillers, United Breweries Is. Carlsberg, and SABMiller. Additionally, it exports to many places including the Middle East, Mediterranean countries, East Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.

The company in its Integrated Annual Report for 2021-22 has said that “The Board of Directors in its meeting held on 24th May, 2022 has recommended dividend. 1/- (50%) per equity share of face value 2/- for the financial year 2021-22 and the same will be paid to the members of the company whose names appear in the register of members of the company as on the record date, i.e. July 28, 2022. The date of payment of dividend is 09th August, 2022 and shall be paid within a period of thirty days from the date of declaration by the shareholders in the AGM.”

Shares fell 2.82 per cent and closed today from your last close of 345.10 355.10. The stock has fallen 25.82 per cent in the past year, and on a year-on-year basis, it has fallen 10.90 per cent so far in 2022. The stock has fallen 28.15 per cent in the past six months, and has lost 0.96 per cent in the past month. Dalmia Bharat Sugar shares hit a 52-week high on NSE. 569.50 on April 19, 2022, and 52-week low of Rs. 281.05 as on June 20, 2022, which means the stock is now trading 39.40 percent below its 52-week high and 22.78 percent above its 52-week low. At the current market price, the stock is trading higher than the 5-day and 20-day moving averages but lower than the 50-day, 100-day and 200-day moving averages.
