Surat: A 50-year-old woman along with her granddaughter attempted suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Dindoli on Monday after receiving information about her daughter-in-law’s suicide. vimal deveresident of Prayosha Society was shifted to a private hospital.
After learning about the death of his son Sagar’s wife Deepali (28) and granddaughter Krisha (18 months), Deve becomes upset. The mutilated bodies of Deepali and Krisha were recovered from the river near Dayalji Bagh on Sunday. Before jumping into the river, Deepali had tied the girl around her waist with a dupatta. Deepali was a resident of Buldhana district of Maharashtra, while her husband sea Electrical contractor. “Deepali left home with her daughter on Friday. When she did not return, the family filed a missing person’s report. The relatives came to know about the dead body on Monday. As the family members were preparing to go to the hospital to identify the body, Deve went to the first floor of her house and hanged herself with a dupatta. “When the family members asked Deve to come along, he did not respond. So they went to check and found his room locked from inside. They broke open the door and saved Dev, who had hanged himself. He has a neck injury,” said the police.
