David Warner Tries Cristiano Ronaldo, Takes Out Coca-Cola Bottles During PC

Australian opener David Warner tried to force Cristiano Ronaldo to remove the stunt from Coca-Cola bottles during a post-match press conference on Thursday.

“If it’s good enough for Cristiano, it’s good enough for me,” said the Australian cricketer.

Coca-Cola is one of the sponsors of the ICC T20 World Cup, due to which the bottles were placed on the tables for marketing.

Earlier, Cristiano Ronaldo removed two bottles of Coca-Cola placed in front of him at the Euro 2020 press conference, encouraging people to drink water instead. The 36-year-old put the cola bottles aside as he sat down to talk to the media.

Meanwhile, David Warner scored his maiden fifty in the ongoing T20 World Cup as Australia thrashed Sri Lanka by seven wickets in a Group 1 Super 12 match on Thursday.

Warner scored 65 runs off 42 balls, while captain Aaron Finch and Steve Smith scored 37 and 28, respectively, to take Australia home.

Warner was going through a thin patch but the batsman ensured that when Australia needed him the most, he got to his half-century.

Chasing 155, Finch and Warner posted the highest Powerplay score (63) of the ongoing T20 World Cup as Australia made a flying start.

Meanwhile, in another development Australian opener David Warner will put himself back in the IPL auction pool as he does not expect Sunrisers Hyderabad to retain him before the 2022 season.

Warner, who captained Sunrisers in 2016, was not picked for the last six matches of the 2021 season in the UAE. He was stripped of the captaincy even earlier during the India leg of the IPL.

“I will put my name in the auction. As per the indications of the recent IPL, I will not be retained by Sunrisers, so I am looking forward to a fresh start,” Warner told SEN Radio.
