Mumbai: Witness in money laundering case against NCP minister Nawab Malik Enforcement Directorate has been told that Iqbal Kaskar Told him that his elder brother, a fugitive terrorist accused David Ibrahim, who is based in PakistanSends 10 lakh rupees to his siblings every month.
“Kaskar told me that Dawood would send money through his men. He said that he too will get Rs 10 lakh every month. On a few occasions, he showed me boxes of cash and said he got the money from Dawoodbhai,” Khalid Usman Shaikh told ED.
Khalid’s brother, who was Kaskar’s childhood friend, was killed in a gang war. also knew David’s sister Haseena Parkridriver-cum-bodyguard Salim Patel, Khalid told the ED that once Patel had told him that he was extorting money and encroaching on properties with Hasina using Dawood’s name. The ED alleged that Patel along with Hasina also illegally seized the Goawala premises in Mumbai’s Kurla area, which they later sold to Malik’s family.
Several witnesses, including Kaskar and Hasina’s son Alishah (29), have also spoken of Dawood’s stay in Pakistan. “His wife’s name is Mehjabeen. He has five children. A son named Moeen. All his daughters are married. His son also got married,” said Kaskar, who has been arrested in extortion and money laundering cases. Kaskar said that Anees, another brother of the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts, also lives in Pakistan.
Alishah told the ED, “I have heard from sources and family members that Dawood is in Karachi… sometimes during Eid, Diwali and other festivals… keeps in touch with my wife and my sisters. ”
