The tweet left netizens wondering whether Mr Grover was taking a dig at Mr Goyal.
The BharatPe co-founder took a dig at Zomato chief Deepinder Goyal’s “Day One” phrase in a recent tweet. Mr. Grover feels “day 1” is the “least thing” used by start-up founders.
Mr Grover wrote in a tweet, “I think the most lame thing for start-up founders to use is the phrase ‘It’s still Day 1’. Any potential talent/current team reading this after being in business for years will be excited.” May be they use this as a hidden message to investors that don’t come asking for exit.

I think the phrase ‘it’s still day 1’ for start-up founders is the dumbest thing to use. No potential talent/current team is going to be excited to read this when you’ve been in business for years. May be they use this as a hidden message to investors that don’t come asking for exit đ

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal used the phrase “Day 1” in a tweet 2 days ago. The tweet left many social media users wondering whether Mr Grover was taking a dig at Mr Goyal.
On Saturday, Mr Goyal shared a picture with Zomato delivery agents. “Sonu met Vipin (and a few others) who have been working with us for many years. His life stories and what I’ve learned from him about our business always blow my mind. I am extremely grateful to have had this opportunity to touch his life.” Still day 1 at Zomato,” he wrote.

The term “Day 1” has been used by many founders to emphasize their passion for their start-up.
Meanwhile, Mr Grover reacted to reports of senior executives including the chief technology officer (CTO) and chief product officer (CPO) leaving the fintech giant. Mr Grover, who resigned as MD and director of BharatPe earlier this year, took to Twitter to say that there is no BharatPe India without him.
“Good people don’t work for companies. They work with magical founders to create, build & grow! There is no @bharatpeindia without Ashneer_Grover,” he added.
