Day Trading Guide for Friday: Nifty reversed Wednesday’s losses and closed at another record high of 17,234 on Thursday. The 50-share index rose sharply yesterday and hit a new high of 17,245. The BSE Sensex also closed at a record high of 57,852 – 514 points from Wednesday’s close. The 30-stock index also touched a new peak of 57,892 during the intraday rally. On a day when volumes on the NSE were more or less in line with the recent average, auto indices were the only losers, while realty, consumer durables, IT and FMCG were the main gainers. The broader indices also rose largely in line with the Nifty. According to market experts, this trading pattern shows the strength of the upward momentum. This is a positive sign and further upside can be expected in the near term.

When asked about Intraday Trading Tips for Friday; Nagraj Shetty, Technical Research Analyst, HDFC Securities said, “Short-term trend of Nifty is in a bullish mode and broader market indices are also in the driver’s seat. Further gains can be expected in the next 1-2 sessions. From new highs,” Nagraj Shetty, Technical Research Analyst, HDFC Securities said. Another round of consolidation or marginal profit booking. The next upside levels for NSE Nifty should be seen around 17,500 and immediate support for the 50-stock index is placed at 17,150.
