Day Trading Guide for Today: After showing sharp weakness and intraday upside recovery on Tuesday, Nifty moved into a consolidation with weak bias on Wednesday and closed the day at 17,711, down 37 points. The BSE Sensex closed at 59,413, down 254 points. A promising upside correction has emerged in the mid to later part, but the market was not able to close higher. According to stock market experts, this trend indicates the formation of a high wave type pattern. Generally, such formations after a proper downtrend may indicate the possibility of a halt in the current trend and need to be confirmed with a proper bounce in subsequent sessions.
The day when the volumes on NSE were higher than the recent average; Power, metals and realty indices were the biggest gainers, while banks, auto, capital goods and FMCG indices were the biggest losers.

However, lack of sharp follow-through selling and buying emergence from lower supports indicates the possibility of a further rally in the market. 1-2 sessions. A steady move above the immediate resistance of 17,800 could open a strong bounce towards the 18,000 mark. Immediate support for NSE Nifty is placed at 17,580 to 17,600 levels.
