Chhath Puja celebrations will not be allowed in public places, says government order

All the event organizers have to obtain the requisite permission from the concerned District Magistrate to organize the festival. Fairs, fairs, food stalls (inside and outside venues), rides, rallies and processions are not permitted as part of festivals in Delhi.

While events in open spaces will be subject to a maximum limit of 200 people, spectators with up to 50 per cent capacity will be allowed. The maximum limit for the number of attendees will be decided by the local DM and district DCP keeping in view the size of the land and social distancing norms.

Standing crowd will not be allowed at the venues. The organizers of the event have been directed to ensure separate entry and exit for the visitors and to allow only persons with face masks to enter.

A nodal officer will be in charge at each venue and the activities will be videographed by the district administration.

While reviewing the COVID-19 scenario in the city on Wednesday, the LG observed that the situation was good, but warned not to disappoint anyone.

The DDMA had also decided that schools in junior classes would be allowed to resume only after the festive season is over.
