Srinagar: Security forces have taken “decisive control” over Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 two-and-a-half years ago, the Union Home Minister said. He said that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has changed drastically since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014. Shah said that the dream and dream of ideologues Shyama Prasad Mookerjee and Pandit Prem Nath Dogra – One Pradhan, One Vidhan, One Nishan – have come true in Jammu and Kashmir under the supervision of the Prime Minister. “Today is the best tribute to the soul of Syama Prasad Mookerjee that the whole of India has one flag, one constitution and one leader,” he said.
Shah, who arrived in Jammu on Friday on a two-day visit, said democracy is back in Jammu and Kashmir and the union territory is registering “inclusive growth” through corruption-free governance as a result of the abrogation of Article 370.
“Democracy is flourishing in Jammu and Kashmir. Now every village has a Sarpanch and Panchayat members. National highways are being renovated and all modern means are being used for the upliftment of Jammu and Kashmir,” the home minister said. “Record achievements are being achieved in every segment.”
He cited the achievement of the J&K administration to successfully ensured investments of over Rs 33,000 crore, when democracy was almost invisible at the grassroots level. In addition, there will be seven new medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir and two AIIMS will be functional soon.
He then told the jawans present in the program that the Center is committed to take the CRPF to new heights and equip it with modern weapons and technology. “I am sure that the CRPF will soon emerge as the elite force of the country,” he said. “We will never forget the valor and courage of this force. The great sacrifices made by the CRPF jawans in the line of duty will be written in golden letters. The families of martyrs will never be left alone.”
Shah also reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and called for proactive operations to deny terrorists any safe haven or financial support. Presiding over a security meeting with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior officials, he said, “To ensure zero cross-border infiltration and to completely eliminate terrorism to achieve PM Modi’s vision of a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.” The security grid should be further strengthened. ,
He appreciated the improvement in the security situation, reduction in terrorism-related cases from 417 in 2018 to 229 in 2021 and the reduction in the death rate of security forces from 91 in 2018 to 42 in 2021.
