The Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday (June 12) detained a man under suspicious circumstances near the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun.
Who has been identified as Jaynath Sharma, son of Udayraj Sharma. Seeing him in suspicious condition near IMA Dehradun, STF team Dehradun and Army intelligence team took him into custody.
STF SSP Ajay Singh said, “The man was wearing a fake uniform of a lieutenant rank officer of the Indian Army and was seen in the passing out parade near IMA.”
What was found during the investigation of the suspect:
During interrogation, it was revealed that Jayanath was posted in the army in the past and was declared a fugitive by the army in the year 2017.
He was earlier posted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar and was later declared a fugitive by the Army in the year 2016 when he did not return to the job. Allegedly, he told the people living in and around his house that he was an officer under training in IMA and through this he had made an appearance in the name of army recruitment by portraying himself as an army officer in front of the local people. Took a bribe Was living in a rented room in Dehradun.
The said fugitive has been roaming around in some units of the army through his fake card for years, which has so far been confirmed by the Varanasi unit.
The SSP said, “Since today was the IMA’s important passing out parade and there should be no interference, so the entire operation was confidential. He said that on the information received so far, the team will take further action and verification.
