Delegation led by exiled leader meets British Labor MP, raises concerns over rights violations, terrorism in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir – Times of India

London: A delegation led by the leader in exile Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) Sardar Shaukat Ali Kashmiri has briefed British Labor Party MP Fabian Hamilton about the current situation in the region.
The delegation expressed concern over the restoration of peace and protection of citizens’ rights in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
He also urged for peace and stability in the region and elimination of all forms of terrorism and extremism.
During his briefing in London, Sardar Shaukat Ali Kashmiri said that the people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are facing discrimination on the basis of ethnicity.
“Natural resources are being plundered without consultation with the local population. People from these areas are the state victims – facing discrimination, kidnapping, violence, torture and arbitrary arrests,” he said.
“Those who have been peacefully advocating for their basic political and social rights are facing strict restrictions on the freedom of movement in Gilgit Baltistan.
