For better coordination between all these committees, a nodal committee has been constituted under the leadership of BJP leader Ashish Sood.
The total number of MCD wards in Delhi was reduced from 272 to 250 after a notification was issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday regarding the rescheduling of municipal wards. After the delimitation process, the total wards will become 250, out of which 42 wards will be reserved. With the issuance of the final delimitation order, elections to 250 MCD seats are expected to be held soon.
