Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, which is the highest temperature so far this year. The officers provided this information. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts above normal maximum temperatures and above normal heatwave conditions over northwest India from April to June. Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 16.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, four notches below normal. Relative attitude levels in Delhi ranged from 26 per cent to 57 per cent.

The IMD predicts that April to June is likely to see above normal temperatures and increase in the number of cool days.

Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the regional center of the Meteorological Department, said, “Weather is forecast in Delhi for at least a week.” In the absence of western disturbance, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 38 degrees on April 15-16.

The meteorologist said that after April 17, the mercury could reach 40 degrees Celsius in many areas of the national capital, but there was no “fear of heat wave”.
