Delhi reports 10 COVID deaths in 24 hours, highest in 6 months

The city health department said that over 2000 new COVID cases were reported in Delhi for the fifth consecutive day on Friday. The positivity rate has also increased, from 13.84% on Thursday to 15.02% today. The worrying thing is that 10 people have died in the city within just 24 hours, which is the highest in about six months. On February 13, 12 people died due to the viral disease in the national capital.

On Friday, 2,136 new cases were reported in the national capital, 2,623 were cured and with this the active cases rose to 8,343.

On Thursday, 2,311 Covid cases and 1 related death were reported from Delhi. The positivity rate in the state touched 13.84%.

Delhi on Wednesday reported a positivity rate of 11.64 per cent of 2,073 COVID-19 cases and five fatalities. The number of deaths recorded on Wednesday was the highest since June 25 when the city reported six deaths due to COVID-19

Within just 12 days, the city has recorded over 20000 coronavirus cases and 50 deaths pointing to another COVID wave.

According to official data, Delhi has recorded 40 deaths due to COVID-19 in this 10-day period, which is almost three times the cumulative figures recorded in the last 10 days of July, when 14 people died. He had died.

The national capital recorded 2,668 cases and 13 deaths on February 3.

The number of daily COVID-19 cases in Delhi touched a record high of 28,867 on January 13 this year during the third wave of the pandemic. The city had recorded a positivity rate of 30.6 per cent on January 14, the highest during the third wave of the pandemic.
