Education TimesJP Dalal, Lecturer, Directorate of Education (DOE), Government of Delhi says, “This initiative will bring a culture of co-curricular activities in government schools. Co-curricular activities are an equally important part of education. This will be a game-changer for the government school students as it will enhance their personality and create a sense of competition. In addition, Educational Vocational Guidance Cell (EVGC) will be helpful in helping the students to identify their choice of co-curricular activity domain. Subedar Yadav, Vice Principal, Government Boys Senior Secondary School, B(AH)-Block, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, says, “Involving government school students in extra-curricular activities will boost their confidence, which will have a positive impact on their academics as well. Will have. In the long run. As per the infrastructure we have in our schools, we propose to start sports, dance activities, yoga and fine arts in our school. For the same, I also held a meeting with the in-charge of co-curricular activities in our school and directed them to find out which extra-curricular activities the students prefer. ,

Yadav further adds that unless the shifts are merged, it will not be possible to keep these hobby hubs in double shift schools, which is a tough challenge in itself.
