Delhi: Teachers pay full salary in 12 colleges after 3 months – Times of India

New Delhi: Twelve colleges in Delhi have been facing financial crunch for more than three months. However, this seems to be coming to an end as grants have been released for these colleges funded by the Delhi government, after which teachers have received salaries till September.
Colleges affiliated to DU said that the Delhi government had not released the grant due to financial crunch.
Colleges in Bhimrao Ambedkar College, Shaheed Rajguru College Of Applied Sciences, Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education, Maharaja Agrasen College, Bhaskaracharya College, Acharya Narendra Dev College, Maharishi Valmiki College, Keshav MahavidyalayaDeendayal Upadhyay College, Sister Nivedita College, Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Shaheed Sukhdev College,
Talking to IANS, the teachers said that their grant has been released and ad-hoc teachers, guest teachers and contractual staff in these colleges are 50 to 60 per cent of the staff.
Most of these teachers and staff live in rented accommodation. Sources said that the employees were under stress due to non-payment of EMIs, car installment, children’s fees etc.

Demanding the release of grant, Suman said that the teachers and contract employees of these colleges are facing financial crisis due to non-payment of salaries.
