Delhi teen murder: ‘Death sentence in six months’ DCW chief Swati Maliwal

A day after a teenager was stabbed to death in public, DCW chief Swati Maliwal met with the family members of the deceased and demanded death sentence for the murderer in next six months on Monday.

The chilling incident took place near Shahbad Dairy. The 16-year-old girl was interrupted by her alleged boyfriend, who began attacking the girl with knife and also smashed her head with a rock. The most appalling part was the apathetic behaviour of the passer by who completely ignored the incident even after witnessing it.

The incident came into notice when Swati Maliwal shared the CCTV footage of the attack on her Twitter handle on Monday. After meeting with the victim’s family, Swati Maliwal told the media persons that her parents are “in a very miserable condition right now.”

In addition to this, she supported the family members and kept forward their demand of death sentence of the accused within the next six months.

“They have only one demand that the accused should be given a death sentence within the next six months. We also have the same demand and we will fight for her (the victim’s) justice,” said DCW chief Swati Maliwal after meeting with Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy murder case victim’s family on Tuesday.
