Delhi University invites research proposals from faculty members, grants up to Rs 3 lakh

Delhi University (DU) invites applications for one year Faculty Research Proposal (FRP) from faculty members of DU either individually or in collaboration with other researchers within or outside the University including Colleges of the University. The proposal is to be submitted online at ioe.du.ac.in by 30 September.

“Continuing its commitment to support and expand its research profile, the University under the University of Eminence (IOE) Scheme invites short-term research proposals (one year duration) from faculty members of University Departments for the year 2021- 22 ,” DU said in an official notice.

The decision of the reviewers and the Project Evaluation Committee (PEC) will be final.

The proposed study should address an investigation with a clear hypothesis and specific objective and expected result, to be achieved within one year. Experimental work should be designed in such a way that the software, equipment, machinery is already available in the PI, and/or Co-PI’s laboratory.

In addition, the faculty member should be a permanent employee in DU at the time of submission of the project proposal and should have at least 12 months of service left before the date of retirement. However, ad hoc faculty in departments and colleges may be involved in research as co-investigators.

The Final Technical Report (FTR) should include the key findings of the research work, a copy of the manuscript, published papers and acceptance letters. A PDF of the FTR is to be uploaded online while applying afresh for the FRP 2021 grant.

The maximum financial assistance is Rs 3 lakh for science, interdisciplinary and applied science, Rs 1.75 lakh for social science, interdisciplinary and applied social science, mathematical science, management, while it is Rs 1.5 lakh for humanities, law and others.

Faculty members obtaining FRP 2020 in individual capacity will be given preference during FRP 2021 provided they have research publications in the last three years. The minimum research publication is five years for the sciences, three for the social sciences, and two for the humanities.

Re-appropriation of the budget after sanction of the project will not be considered, but the competent authority will allow a maximum of 10 per cent re-appropriation, provided proper justification for the same is provided by the member within 60 days of its receipt. approval letter.

If the project involves fieldwork, the details should be provided and it should be within the budget allocation.
