Delhi University third cut-off list to be released today on du.ac.in portal

The University of Delhi (DU) will release the third cut-off list for its undergraduate admissions on its official website du.ac.in on Saturday.

Based on the first and second cut-off list, DU has so far admitted more than 48,000 students after receiving more than 1.8 lakh applications. The total number of seats for admission in all DU colleges is 70,000.

Most of the seats were filled in top courses like Economics (H), BCom (H), English (H) after the first cut-off list was released in late September.

Till 5 pm on Friday, 51,974 students had paid the fees, after which the payment gateway was closed. PTI.

He said that the principals of the college have approved 10,591 applications.

Ramjas College Principal Manoj Khanna said that the college administration is taking precautions as they do not want to admit more students than the number of seats.

“This year, we are planning to go for NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accreditation and we want to maintain a good student-teacher ratio, which is an important criterion. We have set the cut-off for political as 100 per cent. Science (Hons) is in the second list as we had only two seats vacant. We have done 33 admissions in the course for 31 seats.”

Dr Jaswinder Singh, Principal, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College said that out of 820, about 440 seats have been filled.

“We have 10 students who have applied for the B.Com programme. The cut-off is likely to drop by one per cent in the third list,” he said.

The cut-off for B.Com program in the first cut-off list was pegged at 100 per cent, but the course did not find any takers, so it was reduced to the second list.

Hem Chand Jain, principal of Deen Dayal Upadhyay College, said the fall in the third list would be between 0.25 to 0.5 per cent and only a few courses are likely to remain open.
