Be it freshwater prawns or king size prawns, both need to be peeled and deveined before cooking. Begin by pinching the back of the prawn’s head and slowly twist the body. Now pull out the shell and legs and keep aside. Next, you can remove the tail if you want, or you can leave it as it is. Make a small incision on the back and pull out the black thread to remove the prawns. Do the same with each piece of prawns.
