Dengue Outbreak: The Uttar Pradesh government will send three teams of specialist doctors to Firozabad, Mathura and Agra districts. Just a day later, the death toll from dengue fever in Firozabad district rose to 51.

The government will send three teams of specialist doctors each from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (SGPGI), King George’s Medical University, (KGMU) and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RML) Lucknow to Firozabad, Mathura and Firozabad. Agra District.

“Three teams of three specialist doctors from SGPGI, KGMU and RMLIMS Lucknow should be formed and sent to Firozabad, Mathura and Agra districts. This team of specialist doctors will guide the local doctors. Attention should be paid to the health of every patient,” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.

The Chief Minister’s Office said that for the prevention of dengue and other viral diseases, arrangements have been made for additional beds, doctors, paramedical staff, medicines, testing equipment.

The CMO has directed that patients and relatives should be contacted through the Chief Minister’s helpline. The office further appealed to make people aware that even if they have mild symptoms of the disease, they should immediately contact the nearest hospital.

On Friday, a five-member central team of the Health Ministry conducted door-to-door inspections and made people aware about the dos and don’ts to check the spread of dengue in the district. After conducting door-to-door inspection, the team held a meeting with district and state health officials.

Today, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that Firozabad has the highest number of deaths due to dengue. “The central team has observed that most of the cases are due to dengue, while some are due to scrub typhus and leptospirosis. The vector index in Firozabad district was also found to be above 50% in both the House Index and the Containment Index and accordingly vector surveillance and control measures have been instituted,” he said in a letter to UP Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari.
