Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has also made it clear that the government stands with the victim in the 2017 actor rape case.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has also made it clear that the government stands with the victim in the 2017 actor rape case.

CPI(M) leader and former minister PK Srimati on Friday said that derogatory remarks about women, no matter whoever pronounces them, are unacceptable.

“We cannot accept such comments, whether made by ‘A’ or ‘B’,” Ms Smt. said during a press conference organized by the Left Democratic Women’s Front (LDWF) here.

Ms Smt, who insisted that her remarks were not aimed at any particular person, was responding to a question on certain comments allegedly made by former power minister MM Mani in connection with the actor’s rape case.

Ms. Smt. said that the Left Democratic Front government during the last six years has given serious attention to all matters related to atrocities against women and children.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has also made it clear that the government stands with the victim in the 2017 actor rape case. However, some people were trying to create an impression that the government was against them.

LDWF convener CS Sujata said the victim had met the chief minister and had full faith in the state government.
