Remember the add gel pen which used to be everyone’s favorite in childhood? In the olden days, convincing our parents to buy us that expensive pen used to be a task in itself. However, now the times have changed and the same pen is now double the price, which is Rs. 20. Taking to Twitter, a person wrote, “Today I came to know that the cost of an ad gel pen is now Rs. 40. Rs 40 for an ad gel pen. This tweet has given a tough competition to the netizens as they are over priced refuses to believe. Not only that, but this one tweet came as a reality check for many people about how they are growing up and inflation is real. Take a look at the tweet:

Tweeple went crazy over the tweet and recalled his time when such things came cheap. “Inflation is real. Sorry to be too old like Grandpa but in our times I used to get it for ₹12,” commented a Twitter user. Another person wrote, “Dude, when and where? This pen came in the market in 1996/97 and since then it was worth 20 rupees. Then I was in school and I had to get a pen hour of 20 rupees.
People can also be seen retweeting the tweet with their own caption. One user wrote, ‘Are you kidding me?!! I remember buying these pens for Rs. 10 rupees and special pilot pen will be kept for taking notes in the college. 30-35 for the exam.” Another wrote, “Still remember, rich kids used to use Trimax which was about 35-40 a day, Ed Gel used to be 25-30, and Farmer Reynolds like me Which was around 10-15”.
