Despite cracking NEET, Telangana student unable to pay medical college fees, MLC Kavitha extends support

When lack of financial resources prevented Harika from taking admission in a coaching institute, she did not give up on her dream of becoming a doctor and started preparing for the medical entrance exam – NEET – with the help of YouTube.

Harika secured 40,958 rank at the national level, 703 at the state level and 980 in the NEET exam held in 2022. He got admission in Government Medical College, Siddipet.

But he would have to spend at least Rs 2 lakh to pursue the medicine, which the family could not afford. The only source of income for the family is the mother who makes beedis at low wages.

The family could not afford the medical college expenses.

Born in Ambree Satish Kumar and Anuradha of Namdevwada area of ​​Nizamabad city, Harika lost her father at an early age. After the death of the father, who was also the bread earner for the family, his mother takes on the work of making beedi to lead the family and provide education to the children. Harika also has a brother whose name is Ishwar.

Harika said that she contacted Nizamabad MLC Kavita and requested her to provide financial assistance for her education. Overwhelmed by her achievement, Nizamabad MLC Kalvakuntla Kavita handed over the first installment of her fee when the student approached the public representative for financial assistance.

When News18 contacted Harika, she said that she and her family members were delighted when the MLC assured them that she would bear all the expenses for her education. Harika said that BJP leader and businessman Dhanpal Suryanarayan Gupta came to his house and immediately provided financial assistance of Rs 25,000 on behalf of Dhanpal Lakshmi Vittal Trust.

Harika said with a grateful smile on her face that she would pay back to the society by serving the poor after becoming a doctor.

Meanwhile, MLC Kavita tweeted about her meeting with Harika and her mother. He also tweeted about handing over the first installment of his fee.
