‘Development of tourism, sports infra is priority for Telangana government.’

Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Sports, Culture, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, on Saturday said that the Telangana government accorded top priority to harnessing the state’s tourism potential and strengthening infrastructure to nurture young sporting talent. Is.

He made an on-the-spot assessment of various works being executed by the Irrigation Department at Lower Manair Dam (LMD) with an outlay of ₹300 crore as part of the ambitious Manair River Front Development Project in Karimnagar on Saturday. He was accompanied by Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Managing Director B. Manohar and Karimnagar Collector RV Karnan.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sultania said that the Maner River Front Development Project would turn Karimnagar into a major tourist destination, and asked the concerned authorities to expedite the works. He reviewed the progress of works including riverfront beautification, construction of Bathukamma Ghat, and creation of tourism infrastructure and facilities like boat cruises by TSTDC at an estimated cost of ₹ 100 crore. He also inspected the ongoing works at Haritha Tourism Budget Hotel in Karimnagar.

Shri Sultania then visited the Regional Sports School and interacted with the students. He said that infrastructure and other facilities would be strengthened in the sports school.

Later, he reviewed Palle Pragati, food processing and other rural development schemes with the officials at the Collectorate.
