Dhanteras 2022: With the arrival of Diwali, there is a hustle and bustle in the market. The five-day long festival will begin with Dhanteras on 23 October. It is considered one of the most auspicious days of the year to buy something new. It is believed that buying something on this day brings good luck to the person and his family. It has been observed that on the occasion of Dhanteras, people’s shopping list usually consists of gold and silver jewellery, utensils and even electronics. According to popular belief, it is a gesture to welcome Kubera and Lakshmi, both representing wealth and prosperity in Hindu mythology, to one’s home.
However, there are some things that should be kept in mind. It is said that there are certain things that one should avoid buying on Dhanteras at all costs. If you buy these on Dhanteras, you will bring bad luck instead of good. Listed below are the things that you should not buy on the eve of Dhanteras:
Iron
According to the prevailing beliefs, one should not buy products made of iron on the day of Dhanteras, without trying to propagate superstitions. Instead, you choose to bring something made of copper, brass and silver to your homes on Diwali.

While many people buy vehicles on Dhanteras, it is advised that you can bring the vehicle to your home on this day, but you should not pay on this day. Instead, to maintain the positivity in the house, the payment should be made a day in advance.
sharp objects
There is a misconception that buying any metal on the day of Dhanteras brings good luck. So, if possible, try to miss out on knives, scissors and other sharp items on your shopping spree.
Gift
Although they give gifts on Diwali, but do not buy anything for others on Dhanteras. It is considered inauspicious to send gold or precious metals like gold from home on this day.
black product
Even though you love to wear black because it makes you attractive, but the color is not considered auspicious. People usually keep it separate from anything religious. Hence it is not recommended to bring anything into the Black Home on the day of Dhanteras.
