a few weeks after the release of netflix gray manA sequel and a spin-off to Action were in development, director Russo Brothers announced. Now, Dhanush has confirmed that his character Avik San aka The Lone Wolf will be back in the upcoming sequel.
Dhanush shared a short audio clip on Twitter in which he informs Ryan Gosling’s Six that they are both looking for the same person and that he will find and eliminate him first. Avik urges Six to stop watching and not cross paths with her.

However, we don’t see former corrupt CIA officer Denny Carmichael (Regge-Jean Page), who joined hands with late psychopath mercenary Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans) to kill Six, to suffer any consequences. So is Avik referring to in the Carmichael clip? If that’s the case, Avik and CIA agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) may also be reunited soon.
The news of Dhanush’s return in the sequel may not come as a surprise in an interview with Russo Brothers insider, the character’s return was confirmed. “We are lucky to be using Dhanush. We had no interest in playing a one-sided character in him, who appears to be recovering from the lead role in the film. He is as skillful and determined as Gosling is in the movie. He has a story that will allow him to return to the narrative at some point — as his own hero.”
This has fueled further speculation that the spin-off in development is focused on Avik San.
“We wanted to create a lot of tension about that character (Avik). The Gray Man doesn’t give him away. Dhanush decided to let the struggle go on its own. This is the character we saw best in The Gray Man. That’s what we know about him. For us, he is moving a lot,” the filmmakers said.
gray man Co-writer Stephen McFly will write the script for the upcoming sequel, while the spin-off film will be written by screenwriters Paul Wernicke and Rhett Reese. Mike LaRocca of The Rose and AGBO will produce the sequel with Joe Roth and Jeffrey Kirshenbaum for Roth Kirshenbaum Films.
